Some time around 2014-2015, Adams Oshiomhole called Godwin Obaseki the “brain and creativity” behind his administration in Edo State and anointed him as his successor.

FastFWD to 2016 Obaseki became Edo state governor, while Oshiomhole became the national chairman of their party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Some months later, they stated having some misunderstanding. The rift was subtle at first, but it became obvious a year later and grew worse almost by the day until it became uncontrollable.

But till this very moment, nobody is yet to figure out the main reason behind their fights. None of them is ready to talk.

We all followed the election processes, seen and heard everything that happened. The godfatherism rumour, the threat of making sure Obaseki lose the election, which never happened(he won), how governor Wike of Rivers State will be isolated till the election is over, etc.
